What is the maximum time allowed for me to complete the programme? |
Under normal circumstances, once you have started a module you must complete it. If for any reason you are unable to complete it you will have to retake it at the next available opportunity. The maximum time you are permitted to complete a Masters award is FIVE years from the date when you first start it. |
Apart from formal teaching are there any other activities built into the course? |
Yes, there are. Following your enrolment onto the course there will be an induction/orientation programme when you will have the opportunity to meet the course management team, members of academic staff. You will also be introduced to many student support services including the IT and library services, student counselling, etc.
During the programme, for each module, there will be tutorial sessions when you are expected to participate actively in discussion pertinent to that module. You will also have the opportunity to discuss with each module tutor issues related to your own learning progress on that module. |
|
Is class attendance compulsory? |
Yes. SU regulations do require a postgraduate student to attend all the classes. Attendance is monitored; non-attendance must be explained, just as if you are employed. Our experience suggests that students who miss classes tend to perform poorly in their assessments. | |
